Refunds and cancellations
Updated August 5, 2026
Plans change. Whether you get your money back depends on the type of event — but the rules are the same for everyone, and you do not have to negotiate them with the organizer.
Giving up your spot at a free event
If you registered for a free event and can no longer make it, you can give up your spot. On the event page you will find the option to cancel your registration.
Since there was no payment, there is no refund here. Giving up your spot simply opens the place for someone else.
Paid tickets are non-refundable by default
When you buy a paid ticket, it is non-refundable by default. For a dated, in-person event that goes ahead as planned, there is no right to change your mind and get your money back.
There are two exceptions, and in both the refund is required — the organizer cannot waive it.
When you do get a refund
- The organizer cancels or postpones the event. If the event does not happen as it was sold, you are refunded.
- The law gives you a right of withdrawal. This mainly covers offerings that are not tied to a specific date — for example an online, on-demand session — where consumer law lets you withdraw.
In these cases the refund is handled by the platform, not the organizer: the amount goes back to the same card you paid with. You do not need to chase anyone for it.
Where to read the full terms
The exact conditions, including the withdrawal period, are on the Cancellation and Refund page. When a refund applies, it is processed by the platform back to your original card — there is nothing to arrange with the organizer.
