How recipients verify and share

Everything you issue can be verified and shared. Below is what recipients get, and how anyone can confirm a certificate is genuine.

The public verification page

Every certificate and badge has its own public page at a link like gathin.com/certificate/<code> or gathin.com/badge/<code>. Anyone can open it without an account and see the certificate image, who it was issued to, the issuing community, and the verification code. The page shows the holder's name, never their email. One issued without a name says The holder. This page is the proof that the credential is real, because the code on the certificate matches it.

The download icon in the corner of the image downloads the certificate or badge image.

Add to LinkedIn

When the person who earned it opens the page while signed in to their own account, they see an Add to LinkedIn button beside their name. It copies the page link and opens LinkedIn's "add certification" flow pre-filled with the title, issue date, verification code, and a link back to the verification page. Other visitors don't see the button, so no one can add someone else's certificate to their own profile.

In the app, the same page also has a Share button for everyone. Add to LinkedIn is still shown only to the person who earned it.

Make your community the issuer on LinkedIn

For your community to appear as the issuing organization on LinkedIn, set its LinkedIn Company ID in your community settings. The Issue and Assign tabs show an info banner with a Go to settings link. Without the ID, the credential can still be added to LinkedIn, but it won't be tied to your organization's page.

On the recipient's profile

Earned certificates and badges show on the person's Gathin profile, on the Achievements tab. If they have both certificates and badges, the tab's filter can show All, Certificates, or Badges. Each one links to its public verification page, so the profile also works as a record of what they've completed in your communities.

Connecting to an event

You can link a program to an event, so a course or workshop and its certificate are connected. You set the link from the Linked event selector on the program's page or the Certificate program selector in the event's settings (Create a certification program).

Once a program is linked, everyone on the event page sees the certificate's design, total hours and duration in a Certificate section. People who earned the certificate see it both on the event page and on their profile. The Certified mark on event cards comes from your answer to the Certified Event question in the event's settings. You still issue certificates from the Certification section as described in these articles.
