Issue certificates to people
Updated August 5, 2026
Once a program has a template, you can issue certificates to a list of people. Each person gets their own certificate, rendered from the template with their name and a unique code.
Add recipients
Open the program's Issue tab and choose a template from the dropdown — you'll see Template ready when it's loaded. Then add the people who earned it, two ways:
- Manual — type a name and email and press the + button. You can also paste rows straight from a spreadsheet (a Name/Email column) and they'll be added at once.
- Spreadsheet — drop or upload an
.xlsx,.xls, or.csvfile, then map which column is the name and which is the email. A preview shows what will be created, and duplicate emails are removed automatically.
Create and send
Press Issue certificates. Gathin creates a certificate for each person and shows a progress bar. When it finishes, the new recipients appear on the Holders tab.
Creating a certificate does not email it yet — that's a separate step, so you can review first. On the Holders tab press Send emails to email everyone who hasn't received theirs yet; the status column shows Sent or Not sent for each person.
Manage holders
The Holders tab is your record of everyone with a certificate. You can:
- Search by name, email, or code.
- Open a holder's public certificate with the link icon.
- Remove a single certificate, or select several with the checkboxes and remove them in bulk.
Tip: set your community's LinkedIn Company ID in settings before you issue — the info banner on the Issue tab links straight there. It makes your community show up as the issuing organization when recipients add the certificate to LinkedIn.
