Claim your speaker page

Updated August 26, 2026

Link a speaker page created in your name to your account with an email check, so your talks show on your profile.

If you have spoken at an event, a speaker page may have been created in your name. If it isn't linked to an account yet, you can claim it. Once you do, the page is yours and the events you spoke at start showing on your Gathin profile too.

How to claim it

  1. Open your own speaker page. Usually you get there by clicking your speaker card on the event you spoke at.
  2. Press This is me under your name. If you aren't signed in you sign in first, then land back on the same page.
  3. We send you a verification email. The screen shows which address it went to in masked form (for example a•••@example.com) — we never show the full address.
  4. Click the link in the email. The link is valid for 72 hours.

Once you click it, the profile is linked to your account and gets its badge.

What changes after you claim it

  • The speaker page is yours: a badge next to your name shows the account is linked, and a link leads to your Gathin profile.
  • The events you spoke at merge into the events feed on your profile. The Talks filter in that feed narrows it down to just your talks.
  • A verified speaker badge appears next to your name on your profile. It isn't granted, it's earned: it stays as long as you have at least one talk.
  • An event you speak at reads "Speaking" or "Spoke" on its card — whether or not you also hold a ticket.

Things that can go wrong

  • "There is no email address on this record." The library record has no address we can verify against. Ask the organizer of the event you spoke at to get in touch with us.
  • "This profile is already linked to an account." The page has been claimed by someone else — or by you, earlier. If you think that's a mistake, write to us.
  • "This link has expired." More than 72 hours have passed. Go back to the speaker page and press This is me again.
  • "Your account is linked to another speaker profile." One account can only be linked to one speaker profile. If you think two records exist for the same person, write to us and we'll merge them.

Changing your details

For now only the Gathin team edits the library record. If you want your photo, title, or about text updated, write to us.

If you want to appear differently at one particular event, that event's organizer can change these fields for their own event; the library record isn't affected.
