Create and award badges

Updated August 5, 2026

Upload a badge image once, then assign it to people — no template design needed.

A badge is a lighter form of recognition than a certificate: a small image awarded for a skill, role, or milestone. There's no designer — you upload the artwork and assign it.

Create a badge

On the Certification page, switch to the Badges tab and press New badge. Give it a title, an optional description, and choose a badge image (a square image works best). Press Create and the badge opens on its detail page.

Assign it to people

A badge detail page has two tabs, Assign and Holders.

On Assign, add recipients the same way as certificates — Manual (name + email, with spreadsheet paste) or a Spreadsheet upload with column mapping. Then press Assign badges. Each person gets the badge with a unique code, and they appear on the Holders tab.

Send and manage

As with certificates, assigning doesn't email anyone. On the Holders tab press Send emails to notify everyone who hasn't been emailed yet. You can search holders, open a holder's public badge page, remove one badge, or select several and remove them in bulk.

The recipient's badge shows on their Gathin profile and at its own public page (gathin.com/badge/<code>), which they can add to LinkedIn — the same LinkedIn Company ID tip from certificates applies here too.
