Managing members
Updated August 3, 2026
The members area gathers everyone who joined your community into one list. From here you change roles, approve join requests, and remove someone when you need to.
The member list
The Members page in your admin panel has two tabs: Members and Pending Requests.
On the Members tab everyone is listed with their role. Use the search box at the top to find someone by name or email. You can also export the list as an Excel file, for example when you want to keep a record.
Roles
Every member has one of three roles:
- Owner: The person who created the community. They have every permission and cannot be removed from the list.
- Admin: Can manage the community and its events.
- Member: Someone who has joined the community.
To make someone an admin or take that away, turn the admin switch on their row on or off. The owner's role cannot be changed.
Approving join requests
If your community is private, people who want to join collect first in the Pending Requests tab. Each request has an option to approve or deny. When you approve, the person moves into the member list; when you deny, the request closes.
Removing a member
To remove someone from the community, use the trash icon on their row. After you confirm, the person leaves the list. The community owner cannot be removed.
Gathin does not have a separate permanent block list. In a private community, if you remove someone and they want back in, they have to send a new join request, and approving it is up to you.
Tagging members
From the member list you can tag people to sort them into groups. You can also select several members and tag them in bulk. For more on tags and segments, see the Segments article.
