Create an account and log in

You do not need an account to browse events, but you do need a free account to join them, buy tickets, and become a member of a community. It takes a couple of minutes.

Sign up

Go to the sign-up page (/register) and enter:

• Your first and last name
• Your email address
• A password

To continue, you need to accept the Terms, Privacy Policy, and Cookie Policy. If you want to receive event and campaign announcements from Gathin by email and SMS, you can tick the separate box below it. That box is optional and not needed to sign up. How your personal data is processed is explained in the KVKK Privacy Notice, linked from the required box. You can change your mind later under Settings → My permissions.

Password requirements

To keep your password strong, the page asks for:

• At least 8 characters
• At least one uppercase and one lowercase letter
• At least one number
• At least one special character
• No spaces

As you type, green checks show you which requirements you have met.

Log in

Once your account is ready, you can log in from the login page (/login). Enter your username or email address and your password. If you want to log back in quickly on the same device, tick the "Remember me" box.

Continue with Google or GitHub

You can use your Google or GitHub account instead: on a computer the buttons are below the email form, under "or"; on a phone they come first, right under Log in and Sign up. The first time, this opens your Gathin account; after that, it logs you in. Continuing this way means you accept the Terms, Privacy Policy, and Cookie Policy; the note under the buttons links to them and to the KVKK Privacy Notice. If you already have a Gathin account with the same email address, it is the same account.

• Google opens Google's own window to pick your account.
• GitHub takes you to GitHub to approve, then brings you back to Gathin. Your GitHub account needs a verified email address the first time; if it has none, verify one on GitHub and try again. If the link has expired, start again from the login page.

What you can do once you are signed in

After you log in you can:

• Join events and buy tickets
• Save events you like to look at later
• Become a member of communities
• Follow other people
• Pick a username, so your profile opens at /@username
• Edit your profile: photo, cover, "About" text, and social links
