What lists are for
Updated August 20, 2026
A list is your own record of events you're planning to go to. It does two jobs at once: a reminder for you, and a set of recommendations for everyone else.
The important part: a list is not limited to Gathin events. You can add any event that has a link — a gig on another platform, a conference, a workshop. They all sit in the same list, in the same shape.
Where lists live
In the Lists tab on your profile. It's always there on your own profile; on someone else's it only appears if they have a public list.
Each row shows the list's name, how many events are in it, and a small mosaic made from those events' covers.
Creating a list
Hit New list, give it a name, and add a description if you want one.
The Anyone with the link can see it switch decides whether the list is public or private. New lists start public:
- Public — you can share the link, and it shows on your profile.
- Private — only you can see it. A private list swaps the share button for "Make the list public to share it", rather than handing you a link nobody else can open.
If you have no lists at all when you add your first event, one is made for you. That list is marked Default and can't be deleted — new events go there unless you say otherwise.
Editing and deleting
The … menu on a list's row lets you change its name, description, and visibility, or delete it. Deleting a list doesn't touch the events; only your collection goes.
Next: add events to a list.
